Butterfly Snack

The recent warmer weather (well, no longer single digits) has us longing for spring. Here's a shot we took at the NC Zoo two years ago. Blooming flowers and butterflies will be here before we know it, and we can't wait!

A Snowy Path

Here's another image from the dusting of snow we had Tuesday. Again, it's from Central Park in King.

Light Dusting of Snow

We had a very light dusting of snow overnight. We snapped this picture this morning. It's the cabin at Central Park in King.

Church Windows in Sparta

When we were in Sparta on Sunday, we noticed a very small, yet beautiful, church. This is Liberty Baptist Church. The window over the door is our favorite feature.

A Sunday Drive: Photos

We got on the Parkway just above the NC/VA state line and traveled south from Cumberland Knob to just below Sparta. As we neared Sparta, there was a very light snow, and the Parkway was closed because of snow and ice. These two photos were taken near the Little Glade Mill Pond.

A Sunday Drive

While cold temperatures kept us inside most of Saturday, we're going for a drive today along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Photos to come ...

Old Baldy

Every year in summer, we travel to Holden Beach for our annual vacation. It's our favorite spot because of its proximity to both North and South Carolina beaches. We might spend a day in Wilmington, or we might travel south for shopping in Myrtle Beach. Two years ago, we spent the day at Bald Head Island after taking a ferry from Southport.

We climbed to the top of Old Baldy, and man, was it warm inside that lighthouse!

It was 9 degrees when we woke up this morning, and we're shivering! Oh, what we would give to be inside that lighthouse right now, even in the 90-degree weather.

Chimney Rock Park

We visited Chimney Rock Park two falls ago and took these shots. For those of you who are movie buffs, you'll recognize this park as the location for many films including "The Last of the Mohicans." The last 15 minutes of the film were shot on top of Hickory Nut Falls.

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog! The title says it all, really. Here, we will post our favorite North Carolina photos, and we hope you will share your favorite pics also.

Who are we? We're a husband and wife who make our home in beautiful Stokes County with three kids, a dog and a cat. We love North Carolina, and we love traveling (when time permits) throughout the state and taking snapshots.

Are we professional photographers? No way.

But this is North Carolina from our perspective.

We hope you will enjoy and visit again.
